How to make a bulldog dart paper airplane
Bulldog Dart Paper Airplane: try all 11 steps in the 3D player. Turn and replay every move. Print the complete diagram sheet or save it as PDF.
An Origami Tutor bulldog dart: a blunt, heavy nose and two narrow wings. The weight sits up front, so it flies straight and carries a long way on a firm throw.
- You need
- One sheet of letter paper (A4 works too). No glue or scissors.
- Start
- Lay a sheet of letter paper in front of you, short edge at the top.
- Tips
- Crease the nose block hard and flat: its weight is what carries the plane.
- If it dives, bend the back edges of both wings up a little; if it climbs and stalls, flatten them.
Your model is ready
Hold the plane under the heavy nose and throw it straight ahead.
Step-by-step diagrams
Steps 1–6
- 1
Crease the middle
Fold the paper in half from left to right, crease it sharply, and open it again.
- 2
Fold the left corner in
Fold the top left corner down so the top edge lies along the center crease.
- 3
Fold the right corner in
Fold the top right corner the same way. The top is now a point.
- 4
Fold the point down
Fold the point straight down, about three inches. The top is now a flat edge.
- 5
Fold the left edge in
Fold the slanted left edge to the center crease, over the folded-down point. The nose becomes a thick blunt block.
- 6
Fold the right edge in
Fold the slanted right edge to the center crease the same way.
Steps 7–11
- 7
Fold in half
Fold the plane in half along the center crease, with the nose folds on the outside.
- 8
Fold the first wing down
Fold the top wing down from the nose, so its slanted top edge lies along the bottom of the body.
- 9
Turn over
Turn the plane over, nose still at the top.
- 10
Fold the second wing down
Fold the other wing down the same way, to match the first.
- 11
Spread both wings
Open both narrow wings away from the keel, keeping the heavy nose closed. Leave a shallow V, with the two tips a little above the roots and both sides even. Then turn the plane upright, keel below.

Finish
Hold the plane under the heavy nose and throw it straight ahead.
