How to make a quilling C-scroll
Quilling C-Scroll: try all 3 steps in the 3D player. Turn and replay every move. Print the complete diagram sheet or save it as PDF.
Roll both ends of half a quilling strip in toward the middle on the same side: the C scroll for borders, frames and flourishes.
- You need
- A 3 mm × 30 cm quilling strip, scissors and a slotted quilling tool. No glue is needed.
- Start
- Begin with one quilling strip, 3 mm wide and 30 cm long, lying flat with its long edges at the top and bottom.
- Tips
- Roll both ends on the same side of the strip, so the coils face each other.
- Roll both ends the same number of turns for an even C; roll them further for a fuller shape.
Your model is ready
Your C scroll is done. Glue it to a card along its straight back, or set two back to back for a heart-like swirl. Turn the C scroll to see its two coils facing each other.
Step-by-step diagrams
- 1
Cut the strip in half
Cut straight across the strip 15 cm from its left end. Keep the left half and set the other aside for another shape.
- 2
Roll the left end
Slide the left end into the quilling tool and roll it toward the middle until the coil is about 11 mm from it. Slide the tool out and let the coil open a little.
- 3
Roll the right end the same way
Roll the right end toward the middle on the same side of the strip, so the two coils face each other and the strip makes a C.

Finish
Your C scroll is done. Glue it to a card along its straight back, or set two back to back for a heart-like swirl. Turn the C scroll to see its two coils facing each other.
