An Origami Tutor sailboat in three folds: a tall white sail over a colored boat, folded from one square. A first model for young children.
- You need
- One square of origami paper, colored on one side. No scissors or glue.
- Start
- Start colored side up, with one corner pointing up. The white back will make the sail.
- Tips
- Line the two edges up exactly in the middle so the sail stays straight.
- Blue or red paper makes the boat stand out against the white sail.
Your model is ready
Press the folds flat. Your sailboat is ready to sail across a table or a card. The finished sailboat, with its tall white sail on the colored boat.
Step-by-step diagrams
- 1
Fold the left side in
Fold the top left edge over so it lies along the middle of the paper. The white back shows as half of the sail.
- 2
Fold the right side in
Fold the top right edge over to meet it in the middle. Now the white sail is complete.
- 3
Flatten the boat
Fold the bottom point behind, so the colored boat under the sail has a flat bottom.
