An Origami Tutor two-color heart with a pocket across its front: slip a folded note or a gift card in behind the colored pocket. Five folds and no glue.
- You need
- One square of origami paper, colored on one side. No scissors or glue.
- Start
- Start white side up, with the edges straight up and across. Paper colored on one side gives colored lobes and a colored pocket on a white middle.
- Tips
- Keep the pocket's top edge straight across so the note slides in evenly.
- A note folded to about a third of the square's width fits the pocket.
Your model is ready
Press the heart flat. Slide a folded note or a gift card into the pocket from its top edge. The finished pocket heart, with the pocket across its front.
Step-by-step diagrams
- 1
Fold up the pocket
Fold the bottom edge up, a little past the middle, so it sits about a quarter of the way down from the top edge. The colored strip is the pocket.
- 2
Fold the left half behind
Fold the left half behind along a slanted line from the middle of the bottom edge to a spot a little in from the left along the top edge. Its top corner sticks up behind as a lobe.
- 3
Fold the right half behind
Fold the right half behind the same way. The two corners stand up as the heart's colored lobes.
- 4
Round the left lobe
Fold the sharp tip of the left lobe behind.
- 5
Round the right lobe
Fold the tip of the right lobe behind the same way.
