EasyAn Origami Tutor design16 stepsFive 4 × 4 in squares · 5 paper pieces

A flat five-pointed star ornament woven from five identical bars, each one square folded in half three times. The bars cross in the star's five lines and every point is hooked shut, so the star holds without glue and has a gap at each point to take a thread.

You need
Five equal squares of thin origami paper, in red and gold. A thread to hang it. No glue or scissors.
Start
Take five squares of the same size, three red and two gold. Set them in two columns, red on the left (three squares) and gold on the right (two), all with the same side up.
Tips
  • Crease each fold sharply so the bar stays narrow and even.
  • Lay each bar so its two ends reach two points of the star.
  • Hook one point at a time and press it flat before the next.
