How to make a stealth paper airplane
Stealth Paper Airplane: try all 8 steps in the 3D player. Turn and replay every move. Print the complete diagram sheet or save it as PDF.
An Origami Tutor flying wing: a wide, tailless delta cut from a sheet turned sideways, with a V notch in the back edge. It glides smooth and flat.
- You need
- One sheet of letter paper (A4 works too) and scissors.
- Start
- Lay a sheet of letter paper in front of you, long edge at the top. You will also need scissors.
- Tips
- Keep the notch symmetrical: a flying wing with uneven halves turns to one side.
- If it dives, bend the back edges of both wings up a little; if it climbs and stalls, flatten them.
Your model is ready
Hold the keel near the middle and launch the flying wing level and firmly.
Step-by-step diagrams
- 1
Cut the back notch
Start in the bottom edge an inch and a half left of the middle. Cut up to the middle of the sheet, two inches above the edge, then back down to the edge the same distance on the right. Throw the sliver away.
- 2
Crease the middle
Fold the paper in half from left to right, crease it sharply, and open it again.
- 3
Fold the left corner in
Fold the top left corner down so the top edge lies along the center crease.
- 4
Fold the right corner in
Fold the top right corner the same way, so the two meet at the center crease.
- 5
Fold in half
Fold the plane in half along the center crease, with the corner folds on the outside.
- 6
Fold the first wing down
Fold the top wing down along a line half an inch from the body's fold and parallel to it, all the way from the nose to the back.
- 7
Fold the second wing behind
Fold the other wing back along the same line, so it matches the first.
- 8
Spread both swept wings
Open both wide wings away from the shallow keel, keeping the rear notch centered. Leave a shallow V with both sides even and their tips a little above the roots. Then turn the plane upright, keel below.

Finish
Hold the keel near the middle and launch the flying wing level and firmly.
