Paper Hedgehog Cutout: try all 2 steps in the 3D player. Turn and replay every move. Print the complete diagram sheet or save it as PDF.
Cut a side-view hedgehog with a short snout, one small ear, two feet and a domed spiny back. Two outline cuts leave the whole animal joined in one sheet.
- You need
- Thin paper, a pencil, a ruler and scissors.
- Start
- Use a 15 cm square of brown paper, coloured side up. Leave it unfolded so you can draw the hedgehog's side profile.
Your model is ready
If you like, draw a small eye on the face and darken the nose with a pencil. Keep the flat hedgehog as a silhouette or glue it onto a card. The hedgehog in profile, with a short nose, a small ear, a domed spiny back and two feet.
Step-by-step diagrams
- 1
Cut the face and spiny back
Start at the nose on the left edge. Cut up the short snout, around the small ear, then around the domed back, making a row of broad triangular spines. Finish at the back on the right edge. Keep the paper below the outline.
- 2
Cut the belly and feet
Start just below the nose. Cut under the chin, around the two short feet and along the low belly. Finish just below the first cut on the right edge. Keep the hedgehog above this cut.
