Common uses

A6 suits small cards, pocket notebooks and handouts. It is smaller than a 4 × 6 inch photo.

How it compares

Two A6 sheets placed side by side make approximately one A5 sheet. Cut A6 across the middle of its long edge to get two A7 sheets. Whole-millimetre rounding can leave a 1 mm difference at a cut edge.

Cut a square for origami

The largest square from a flat rectangle this size is 105 × 105 mm (4.1339 × 4.1339 in). Fold one short edge against a long edge so their corners meet. Crease the diagonal, cut off the extra 43 mm strip, then open the triangle.
