- You need
- One square of origami paper, colored on one side. No scissors or glue.
- Start
- Start white side up, with one corner pointing up. Blue, green or red paper makes a bright jewel.
- Tips
- Line both edges up exactly in the middle so the gem stays straight.
- Shiny or metallic paper makes the gem sparkle.
Your model is ready
Press the folds flat. Your gem is ready to glue on a crown or a card. The finished gem, with its flat top and long point.

Fold the left side in
Fold the bottom left edge over so it lies along the middle of the paper.

Fold the right side in
Fold the bottom right edge over to meet it in the middle. You have a kite with a white top.

Fold the top down
Fold the white top point down so its tip just touches the middle, level with the two side corners.

Finish
Press the folds flat. Your gem is ready to glue on a crown or a card. The finished gem, with its flat top and long point.
