An Origami Tutor corner bookmark with a heart on its front: a small pink pocket folds over the corner of a page, and a red heart folded from a smaller square is glued on top.
- You need
- One 6 × 6 in square of pink paper, colored on one side, one 3 × 3 in square of red paper, and a little glue.
- Start
- Use a pink square for the bookmark, colored side up with a corner pointing up, and a smaller red square, half as wide, for the heart. Start the heart square white side up, with its edges straight up and across.
- Tips
- Fold the pocket first, then the heart, so the squares stay clean.
- Glue only the heart's back, never the pocket, so a page corner still slides in.
Your model is ready
Glue the heart in place. Slip the pocket over the corner of a page, so the heart sits on the front of the page. The finished heart bookmark, with the heart on its pocket.
Step-by-step diagrams
Steps 1–6
- 1
Make a triangle
Bring the bottom point up to the top point. Match the corners.
- 2
Crease the right corner
Bring the right corner up to the top point, press, and open it again.
- 3
Crease the left corner
Do the same with the left corner, then open it.
- 4
Make the pocket
Fold only the top layer of the top point down to the middle of the bottom edge.
- 5
Lift the right corner
Fold the right corner back up along its crease, over the pocket.
- 6
Fold its tip down
Fold the tip of that corner down along the top edge of the pocket.
Steps 7–12
- 7
Tuck it in
Lift the pocket flap and slide the folded corner underneath it.
- 8
Lift the left corner
Fold the left corner up along its crease, over the pocket.
- 9
Fold its tip down
Fold its tip down along the top edge of the pocket.
- 10
Tuck it in
Slide the second corner under the pocket flap too.

Fold the heart square in half
Take the small red square. Fold the top edge down to the bottom edge. You have a long rectangle.
- 12
Fold up the left half
Fold the left half up along a slanted line from the middle of the bottom edge to a spot a fifth of the way in from the left along the top edge. Its top corner sticks up as a lobe.
Steps 13–16

Fold up the right half
Fold the right half up the same way, over the left half. The two corners stand side by side as the heart's lobes.
- 14
Round the left lobe
Fold the square tip of the left lobe behind.
- 15
Round the right lobe
Fold the tip of the right lobe behind the same way.

Set the heart on the pocket
Lay the heart on the front of the bookmark, over its upper half, with the heart's point on the crease across the middle.
- ✓
