A heart-shaped gift box from one strip of card. Ten walls stand along the heart's outline, and a triangle under each wall folds in to make the heart-shaped floor.
- You need
- One strip of card, 23.8 × 6.8 cm, a ruler and pencil, scissors and tape.
- Start
- Use a strip of card, 23.8 × 6.8 cm, white side up. Starting 1.2 cm in from the left edge, mark ten walls across the top, 3 cm tall, with these widths in cm: 1.6, 1.4, 1.5, 1.5, 4.6, 4.6, 1.5, 1.5, 1.4, 1.6. Under each wall mark where the triangle's third corner goes: measure from the wall's bottom left corner along the bottom edge, then straight down. The ten points are 0.7 left and 0.5 down; 1.0 left and 2.2 down; 0.2 left and 3.2 down; 1.9 right and 3.1 down; 1.9 right and 2.5 down; 2.6 right and 2.5 down; 0.4 left and 3.1 down; 1.8 right and 3.2 down; 2.4 right and 2.2 down; 2.4 right and 0.5 down.
- Tips
- Measure the ten wall widths with a ruler, as they are all different.
- Score every crease with a ruler and a dull pencil point first.
- Fold the two corners at the lobes carefully: they are the wide ones.
Your model is ready
The heart box is open at the top. Tape the first wall to the last at the cleft. A lid cut to the heart's outline fits over it.
