An Origami Tutor parrot with a broad pale head, a hooked beak and a long pleated tail. Fold a perched bird from one square without cuts or glue.
- You need
- One square of thin origami paper and a pen for the eye. No scissors or glue.
- Start
- Start white side up, with one corner pointing up. Bright red, green or blue paper suits a parrot.
- Tips
- Keep the long point at the bottom; the short point makes the head.
- Keep the beak hook small so it stays distinct from the head.
- Take every layer when folding the short head forward.
Your model is ready
Press the folds flat. Hold the parrot upright with its hooked beak at the top and its long tail hanging below. The broad shoulders sit above the narrow tail. Draw one small eye on the pale head. The finished parrot in profile, with a pale head, a hooked beak and a narrow tail below the broad body.
