- You need
- One square of orange-and-white origami paper and a black pen. No scissors or glue.
- Start
- Start white side up with a corner pointing up. Choose orange paper; the face is orange and the features are drawn with a black pen.
- Tips
- Match the two ear tips before pressing their folds.
- Draw the stripes after all the folds are finished.
Your model is ready
Draw two eyes, a small black nose and a mouth. Add three tapered black stripes at each cheek and two short stripes on the forehead. These markings make the face a tiger. The finished tiger face, with its short ears, broad chin and black tiger stripes.
Step-by-step diagrams
- 1
Make a triangle
Bring the bottom corner up to the top corner and press the long edge flat.
- 2
Flatten the forehead
Fold both top points down on a horizontal line, about a third of the way down the triangle.
- 3
Raise the left ear
Lift the left corner along the slanted line from the middle of the long edge. Leave a little ear above the forehead.
- 4
Raise the right ear
Lift the other corner to match the first ear.
- 5
Blunt the left ear
Fold the little point of the left ear down. Its top should be short and flat.
- 6
Blunt the right ear
Fold the right ear tip down by the same amount.
- 7
Shorten the chin
Fold the lower point up behind the face to leave a broad, flat chin. Take every layer.
- 8
