  1. 1

    Cut the four-wall blank

Draw four matching trapezoids around the middle square: each is 8 cm high on the flat paper, with its 5 cm outer edge centered over its 2 cm base. Cut in from the top edge and follow the whole outline. Keep all four walls joined to the square floor.

  2. 2

    Crease the upper wall

Fold this wall inward along its 2 cm base edge, press firmly, then open it flat again. Leave the neighboring walls flat.

  3. 3

    Crease the right wall

Fold this wall inward along its 2 cm base edge, press firmly, then open it flat again. Leave the neighboring walls flat.

  4. 4

    Crease the lower wall

Fold this wall inward along its 2 cm base edge, press firmly, then open it flat again. Leave the neighboring walls flat.

  5. 5

    Crease the left wall

Fold this wall inward along its 2 cm base edge, press firmly, then open it flat again. Leave the neighboring walls flat.

  6. 6

    Raise the tapered vase

Hold the small square floor and lift all four walls together. Stop when their sloping side edges meet, leaving the broad square rim open.
