Common uses
A2, A6, A7 and A9 here are US greeting-card names. They are different from ISO A2, A6, A7 and A9 paper. The chart gives the closed card size.
How it compares
RSVP card is smaller in area. Index card 4x6 is larger in area. These formats have their own proportions; halving a sheet does not necessarily produce the next size.

Cut a square for origami
The largest square from a flat rectangle this size is 107.95 × 107.95 mm (4.25 × 4.25 in). Fold one short edge against a long edge so their corners meet. Crease the diagonal, cut off the extra 31.75 mm strip, then open the triangle.
