Step-by-step diagrams

Valley fold Mountain fold Color side White side
  1. 1

Fold the top edge to the middle

Fold the top long edge down to the middle line of the bill and press the crease.

  2. 2

Fold the bottom edge to the middle

Fold the bottom long edge up to meet it, making a long band half as tall.

  3. 3

    Fold the band in half

Fold the band in half along its length, so the two folded edges meet. The band is now four layers thick and a quarter as tall as the bill.

  4. 4

Roll the band into a ring

Starting at the left end, roll the band round your finger, folded edges along the sides, keeping the turns snug. It goes round nearly three times and the right end finishes on the outside.
